✨ Imagine that “Projects” is equivalent to a lesson or a text you want to teach. It forms the core part of teaching. This article, along with the articles on the three AI-generated features, contains a wealth of insights from our experience in instructional design. We highly recommend you take some time to sit down and explore the suggestions we’ve provided for using these tools effectively.

How to Start a New Project?

  1. Accessing Projects
    • On the sidebar, you will see “Projects” and “New Project.”
  2. Creating a New Project
    • Click “New Project” on the sidebar, and you will be directed to a page where you can start.

Step 1: Set up

From left to right, top to bottom, you will encounter four fields:
Level Type ⇒ Level ⇒ Language ⇒ Output Language.

  • Level Type: Currently, we offer two options: TOCFL and HSK.
  • Frequently Asked Question:”Will you offer ACTFL, IB, or CEFR levels?”
    • We provide a comparison chart to help you align your students’ levels with our settings. Teachers using ACTFL, IB, or CEFR levels can also use the 【AI Chinese Teaching Toolbox】.

Suggestions if you’re unsure about the level:

  • Kindergarten: HSK1

  • Lower Elementary: HSK2

  • Upper Elementary: HSK3

  • Middle School: HSK3~HSK5

For middle school and above:
We recommend selecting a level based on the teaching materials you’re using. Given the unique nature of overseas Chinese education, age and proficiency levels often don’t align perfectly, so we trust teachers’ judgment.

💡 Examples for reference based on proficiency levels:

HSK2、TOCFL2

HSK3、TOCFL3

HSK4、TOCFL4

About Language

  • Two options are available:
Traditional Chinese (TRADITIONAL) or Simplified Chinese (SIMPLIFIED).

About Output Language

  • We support 26 different languages, allowing us to serve teachers from over 10 countries worldwide.
💡 What makes this unique?
Most readily available materials explain Chinese in English, which adds difficulty for non-native English speakers. Materials generated here translate the text, grammar, and example sentences into the student’s native language.

This completes Step 1: Set up. Click “Next” to proceed to the next step.

Step 2: AI Generate (I) ⇒ Choose an AI Function

Here, you will see three AI features: create, revise, and summary. These represent the most common AI use cases when designing lesson plans.

  1. Create: Generate a lesson.
  2. Revise: Adjust difficulty levels.
  3. Summary: Reformat existing lessons or generate a lesson plan based on input content.

Next, we will explain how to use these features—create, revise, and summary—in detail in three separate articles.
